ECU believes in the ‘TRICO’ and Triangular Concept and has formatted the university’s structure in that specific manner. The ECU’s Qualifications are considered via three sections, “Learning Academy”, “Affirmation Academy” and “Accreditation Academy”. The ECU awarding criteria is “Learning”, Professional” and “Vocational” and the assessing methods are “Learning Professional Centres (LPC)”, “Affirmation of Prior Learning and Experience (APEL)” and “ Accreditation of Career Progress Development (ACPD)”. The awards are categorised as Professional for ACPD, Knowledge for APEL and Learning for ART schemes. This specific philosophy was conceived by our Founder and Executive Governor General of ECU and Founder of UK Commission for Consistent Learning (CCL) Prof. Ralph J Thomas. This concept was developed through his research on Professional Educational Qualification thesis of his doctoral philosophy since 1996.
